Lilies and Submarines
This project is easily one of my favorites, experimenting with texture, light and perspective, I truly felt like it all really came together here! Take a look at the progress below.
Inspiration and Thumbnails
As previously stated, this illustration was inspired by the songs "Beyond the Sea" and "Dani California" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Going into the thumbnails, I found that I had a very easy time coming up with various ideas. These were completed in Procreate with a simple lasso tool and rough textured pencil brush.
Color Comps
Color comps are the most important part for me. I feel that each one sets a different tone and I really have to make sure I'm satisfied with whichever one I choose and make sure I can keep the mood and tone consistent.
